| |
| A | No sir, the Indigo carries distinctive features like clear head lamps, chrome lined bonnet, black colored grills etc. Yes, however the broad smiling face look has been retained as it is the signature identity of the Tata brand and also if you look at any of the international mature brands like Mercedes or the Ford Focus family - all these cars have an hatch back, sedan and estate versions but they carry very similar front looks. Apart from giving the brand a distinct identity, it is also very cost effective. Other wise we will not be able to offer you this product at such attractive price. |

| Q | How is the Indigo different from the Indica? |
| |
| A | Though the Indigo is based on the same car platform, in essence Tata Indigo is a very different car offering much refined and comfortable driving and riding experience. This is in line with the higher expectations of the customers in the C segment.
The Indigo offers the following important features that are very different from the Indica:
The wheel base of the Indigo is longer by 50mm for enhanced leg room in the Indigo. Almost all of this increase in space has been used for increasing the rear space for the rear passengers.
Enhanced engines - 85 Bhp Petrol and 62 Bhp Turbo charged Diesel engine
More comfortable rear suspension - The Indigo offers a fully Independent 3 link rear suspension, as against the semi trailing arm suspension on the Indica. The Indigo offers 14 inch wheels as against 13 inch wheels in Indica. This is in line with the enhanced ride expectations from the car in the C segment. |

| Q | What is Independent 3 link suspension? |
| |
| A | Tata Indigo has a Independent 3 link suspension in the rear. The 3 link suspension is a fully independent type suspension and offers best in class ride quality. This is very important in the context of bad roads in India. The suspension is mounted on a separate sub frame which offers better absorptions of shock inputs and helps suppress in-cabin noise. The three link suspension is far superior to the suspension systems found on the Esteem, Opel Corsa, Ford Ikon. For example - the Indigo suspension has 12 rubber bushes for absorbing shocks as against 4 numbers rubber bushes found in other competition cars. Infact a 3 link suspension is found only in much more expensive D segment cars like the Maruti Baleno. |

| Q | Why is the ground clearance less in case if Indigo by 5 mm than in Indica? |
| |
| A | The ground clearance has been reduced as there is modification in the lower link of the front suspension to accommodate a wider 14inch tyre, there by lowering the center of gravity. This enhances the stability of the car which had much higher top speed performance potential as compared to the Indica. |
| Top |
| Q | Why are torque levels same in case of Indica petrol and Indigo Petrol? |
| |
| A | The Indigo engines delivers 85 bhp as against 75 bhp of the Indica petrol which gives enhanced performance . Though the max torque of Indica and Indigo is the same (110 Nm @ 3000 rpm) the delivery of torque for Indigo is more flat at the lower end at low speeds to compensate for the additional weight and still give enhanced drivability in the city conditions. We are better in max torque than the Corsa 1.4 liters/ Sienna 1.2/ Ikon 1.3 etc. |
